I have always been fascinated by our world and intrigued by different global issues. This interest led me to delve into the news, to research ideas and read opposing opinions. This process enabled me to form my own opinions about some issues, however; I generally kept them all inside my head.

I was challenged to transfer the opinions in my head into writing. Initially, this process took a couple of years. It was a new skill that I had to learn, and the thought of putting my ideas online was a strange prospect. Eventually, I found my style of writing and the process of writing became much easier, as I continued to write and continued to learn.

Blogging has enabled me to gain a greater understanding of issues I was already passionate about and new topics I had never considered before. It has encouraged me to delve deeper into my research and consider many different possibilities before reaching my own conclusion. The new research I have been able to undertake has been beneficial in further consolidating my ideas and challenging my perspectives.

I also love writing my thoughts online because of the conversations that flow from them. Whether it be in the comments under my article or through social media, entering into discussions with individuals about crucial issues in our world is something that I genuinely enjoy. Writing has also allowed me to learn from other people’s opinions online and support other writers.

A couple of months ago, I wrote an article titled, ‘The Art of Disagreement’, and the theme of that post summarises the joy of writing. Disagreement should not be discouraged, as it is vital to the formation of complex ideas and opinions. When we challenge ideas, we learn. We grow in our understanding and use that to extend the knowledge of others. Blogging enables positive disagreement, where individuals can challenge views and opinions without attacking personal characteristics.

That is why I love blogging.

    1. Yes, I don’t think disagreements are a bad thing, but they can be when people debate personal characteristics over ideas. Regardless, blogging definitely allows for the discussion of opinions which I think is very important! Thanks for your comment 🙂
