I love sport. I always have. My earliest sporting memories include the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the 2010 FIFA World Cup Final, and the 2011 Ashes series between Australia and England. These were iconic moments that started my sporting journey, which has only grown over time.
Growing up in Australia, I started primarily watching Cricket, NRL, AFL and Rugby Union. For most, this is an adequate number of sports to follow. But, I wasn’t fulfilled. Whenever I would watch TV, I would investigate the TV Guide to try and see if any other sports were on. This is where I found the NFL, NBA, F1, MotoGP, Football, and more recently, the UFC. While most people my age look through Netflix for a new series to watch, I’m looking through the fixtures on Kayo Sports, deciding which sport to watch today.
Therefore, I’ve always been interested in talking about sport as well. I started the Sports Roundup on this blog last year, where I’ve written over 20 articles delving into the key sporting moments of the week. I thoroughly enjoyed writing those articles; however, I felt like they could be expanded. I have watched numerous sport-related talk shows and have been inspired by their analysis and insights. Moreover, I have also always enjoyed video creation which you may be able to tell by looking through this blog’s Instagram page.
So, I decided that it was worth trying to combine these two passions together. Could I create a sports show that was insightful and entertaining? Well, I’ll leave that up to you, but Sports with Sim is that vision come to life. It provides me with a platform to talk about sport, and there’s nothing I love to do more.
Regarding the future of the Sports Roundup, it may come back every now and then, but I will primarily keep my sports-related content on the new YouTube channel and continue using this blog for other topics and conversations.
